This Privacy Policy explains how bernsoftware (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile applications we develop and publish on the Apple App Store (each, the “App”, together the “Apps”). It applies to all of our Apps unless an App provides its own separate policy.
We designed our Apps to be privacy-first. As a general rule, we do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal data.
1. Summary
- No account required. You can use the core features without signing up or giving us your name.
- We do not store your photos or scans on our servers. Content you submit (such as a photo) is processed to return a result and is not retained by us afterwards.
- AI processing. Some features send your input to trusted third-party AI providers solely to generate your result.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
- No selling of data, no advertising identifiers used for cross-app tracking.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Content you provide
Depending on the App, you may capture or upload photos or images, or enter text (for example, a label, a meal, an object, or a prompt). This content is used only to perform the feature you requested (e.g., scanning, identification, generation, analysis).
2.2 Camera and photo library
If a feature needs your camera or photo library, iOS will ask for your permission first. We access this content only at your direction and only to provide the requested feature. We do not browse, upload, or retain your library.
2.3 Purchases and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your payment card details. We may receive Apple’s anonymized transaction status to unlock features you purchased.
2.4 Diagnostics and usage
We may use Apple’s built-in tools and privacy-preserving analytics to understand crashes and aggregate, non-identifying usage (such as which features are used). This data is not used to identify you.
3. How AI Features Work
Several Apps use artificial intelligence to deliver results. When you use such a feature, your input (e.g., an image or text) is transmitted securely to third-party AI/ML service providers (for example, large language model and vision API providers) only to compute your result. We instruct these providers not to use your content to train their models, and we do not retain your input on our own servers after the result is returned.
AI results may be inaccurate or incomplete and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety advice. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
4. Data Retention
We aim to process your content transiently. Inputs you submit for processing are not stored on our servers after your result is delivered. Any content you choose to save remains on your device under your control unless you explicitly export or share it.
5. Third Parties
We rely on a limited set of service providers, which may include:
- Apple — App distribution, in-app purchases, and system services.
- AI / ML API providers — to process your input and return results.
- Cloud / hosting and analytics providers — for delivering the service and aggregate diagnostics.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
6. International Transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), to protect information during processing. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under GDPR and Türkiye’s KVKK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing.
